I have found some sites that I call ”slit your wrists. Dot com”. One site LayOffDaily.com is http://www.layoffdaily.com/. I thought that large companies wouldn’t layoff on weekends… but hey this is the ’09 Recession, tax breaks don’t wonk recession, Thank you George Bush Recession, Wall Street was so irresponsible recession, Greed is Bad Recession, What were we thinking recession or the Uranus opposing Saturn Recession.
Another site is http://www.fuckedstartups.com/. Remember the site we all loved fcompany no more.
What kind of trash do you put in a $1500 trash can?
So I thought it would be interesting to watch Fox News. MSNBC and CNN were pretty much the same.
I wanted to hear the spin. Major difference Fox cut away to hear George Bush speak in Midland. I turned back and neither MSNBC nor CNN was covering Bush.
I took the day off to watch the coverage and I am really glad I did. There were times it was a little boring but for the most part it was a great thing to do.
I know I hadn’t written for a long time but I didn’t realize how long when I checked my blog and my last entry was in October. There is no excuse except sometimes you need a break. Okay maybe the break is over.
I was speaking with someone and she said I was pragmatic. I thought that was a great word for me. Being pragmatic is looking at oil crisis and purchasing a hybrid. Being pragmatic I was able to see my last company was having issues and was able to find a new job before they closed the office.
Pragmatic people can see a problem or an issue and they want to figure out how to fix it. Pragmatic people don’t understand people who believe in The Secret. Yeah believe in positive thinking but shit happens and I will be a little more prepared to handle it.
I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! It’s kind of interesting that each year as the seasons turn and you start to see the leaves change it’s time to think about your where you are in life.
Even if you aren’t Jewish and asked to spend a couple of days thinking on how you can be a better person,,, maybe take a half an hour and think about it. Think of what you are doing each day and how you can improve it. I think about being more aware of my carbon footprint, I think of how people view me, not how I see myself.
Each year I think of how I need to be myself but also be less myself. For those of you who know me… might understand that question. I think all of us have fight that issue as well.
I took an Astrology class to figure out who might win the upcoming election. When elections are close the represent conflicting energies in our society. To predict an election you look at several charts to find reoccurring patterns. You even look at spouses and vice presidential candidates. It’s kind of like predicting the path of a hurricane.
Well looking at the charts it does favor Obama.
I was reading an article on Huffington Post yesterday that really caught my eye. It was written by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-f-kennedy-jr/governor-palins-reading-l_b_126478.html.
It talks about a quote that Sarah Palin used in her acceptance speech “We grow good people in our small towns, with honesty and sincerity and dignity", it is a quote from Westbrook Pleger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westbrook_Pegler . It is also a quote that Pat Buchanan had used in his book. "Right From the Beginning".
It seems Pleger didn’t like anyone who ran the government. Pegler saw himself as a populist whose mission was to warn the nation that dangerous leaders were in power.
When Biden mistakenly didn’t credit a line in a speech when he was running for Presidency the first time, he dropped out.
The other morning I woke up and was watching Morning Joe, all they could do is talk about lipstick on a pig. I got so sick of it that I turned on the BBC Morning News. Oh my, The Koreans just put in nuclear missiles site close to the Russian Border, their was some saber rattling with Russia and Poland because Poland supported Georgia, the Oil Companies can’t wait to get Sarah Palin so they can get hold of all that oil. And we are talking about lipstick.
I saw Charlie Gibson interview Sarah Palin. Hey America, if you are interviewing for the most important job in America, no question should be considered to hard.
Friday night on Real Time with Bill Maher there was an interesting discussion between Janeane Garofalo and John Fund, from the Wall Street Journal. John Fund kept saying if the liberals keep making fun of Palin it will backfire and turn people off. Janeane called him on it. She said stop it, the Republicans always making up stuff about the other candidate and running negative campaigns and why doesn’t backfire on you?
I saw the Saturday night Tina Fey skit. Can I say they nailed it? I thought the best part was when “Sarah” was talking about sexism in the campaign and “Hillary” said it didn’t seem to bother anyone during my campaign. “Hillary” said it’s up to the media to grow a pair and if they can’t …they can borrow hers
It’s been a week of seeing Sarah in the headlines and this is what scares me—
Remember when the Christian Right encouraged their followers to join school committees to push their agenda. Well I guess they were successful in Sarah Palin. As you know she joined the PTA to try and ban some books from her school library this is the list http://www.librarian.net/stax/2366/sarah-palin-vp-nominee/#comment-119807. It even includes my favorite To Kill a Mockingbird. I would like a reporter to ask her why?
I don’t understand the extreme pride of a being a Hockey Mom but this article describes Hockey Moms. http://www.slate.com/id/2199361/ A couple of years ago a Hockey father killed another Hockey father up here in Boston. I guess it’s really intense.
I know Sarah Palin must not watch CNN and most likely has never seen the commercial where Christiane Amanpour chastises people for saying Iran and Iraq incorrectly. I tried finding it and couldn’t.
Have you noticed the Sarah Palin’s crowd are mostly white.
Where are the Pumas’ for Palin? Remember after the Democratic Convention a group of women called themselves Pumas , Party unity my ass, these were the women who were going to vote for John McCain. Where are they now? I did a search on the internet and couldn’t find any recent mentions.
What kind of political convention chants “Drill Baby Drill”.
Not that it matters but it seems like shot gun weddings run in her family. I was reading People ( I was getting my hair done). It seems that Sarah and Todd got married August 21st 1988. Their son was born in April 1989. Which is her business, but don’t change the story that you eloped because you wanted to say money on your wedding.
I hope so because I find Palin annoying and offensive. read more
