To be honest I don't know Hillary Clinton but I do know Hilary Glick. I just know someone else is going to use that and I wanted to be one of the first.
I know I have been quiet for quiet a long time. Some times a girl just needs a break. With the recent pick of Sarah Palin I can no longer remain silent. My opinions at the bottom
So what have I been doing this summer?
1. Thanks to my dear friends George and Suely, I have been able to spend many beautiful weekends in a beach house on Nantucket. There is nothing like waking up and smelling the ocean air and taking a walk on the beach.
2. I purchased a Honda Civic Hybrid and after a month I can let everyone know I am getting 45 miles to the gallon. I feel like I am getting gas for half price! I can drive down to the Cape and still drive to work for a week and still have gas in the tank. And the second day I had my neighbor hit it. Oh well.
3. I have a new job. I went from source code analysis to binary code analysis. It was a hard decision since I did work with a bunch of great group of people that I will really miss being in my face every day. Even though I just work around the corner it’s not the same. However in the end I had to go with what is best for me.
4. Of course being the summer I also took random trips to the Cape, Crane’s beach, and a new find with new friends in Mattapoisett.
5. And yes I have watching the Conventions.
SO what do I think of Sarah Palin. Okay do you know when look at corporate management page and you see the lone woman heading the HR department as part of the team. You know she is not really sitting with the big boy but there just there make it look they are diverse. The token woman. Post Sarah there.
I am a Hillary supporter. Honestly I think she was the best candidate but I have turned my support over to Obama. Two reasons the Supreme Court and Joe Biden. I honestly believe if anyone did support Hillary they supported her for what she stood for and I think Obiden stands for the same thing while McPalin doesn’t --- wow it’s almost scarey what they stand for.
For McCain to think I will vote for him because he put ovaries on his ticket he doesn’t get it. I know she is a Governor and doesn’t have to worry about Canada attacking her but come on she had no thoughts about Iraq and yet her son is going there. Where is her intellectual curiosity, oh she is George Bush in a skirt. As my friend Hilary (Glick) says but she is a beauty queen, Christian, pro-life and pro- gun, that all that is needed to be on the Republican ticket.
Yes I have been a bum about writing, those of you without a blog can’t complain.
So here are some things I have been thinking about.
I can’t wait to see flowers blooming outside
I think the press is treating Hillary very poorly, and treat her differently because she is a woman
Didn’t I say that Obama was just like Deval Patrick
I spent way too much time picking out a lamp.
I really enjoyed watching Dumped on BBC America
My largest heating bill this winter was about $18 for my loft
Well tomorrow it’s another do or a die for Hillary.
I am still not getting the Obama movement. I have basically stopped watching MSNBC. Their love affair with Obama just gets me mad. Last week I heard Geraldine Farraro speak on NPR about how sexist this race has be come. It seems that it is very acceptable to for people to be sexist but not racist. In my book they both are wrong.
As I watched the debate last week, I saw the words like Obama saying Hillary was whining about negative ads. Even the tone they asked her questions was much harsher. I still want to know why no one has brought up the fact that Obama might be able to give a great speech but when he as at a debate he comes off dull and constipated. Before the debate they asked which Hillary would show up—they never asked which Barack will show up the grouchy, constipated Obama or the inspirational Obama.
I have following the polls on www.realclearpolitics.com. If you follow the polls this site gives a lot of info. I was just watching CNN and they were quoting polls saying that Obama is up by a couple of points. It’s just a schanda they way they manipulate information.
About a month ago I went to Whole Foods at Fresh Pond and purchased some ground beef they forgot to give me the bag at check out. When I got home I called and they told me next time I go to the store to stop by the Customer Service counter and they will give me a coupon for $10. Very nice! So while Fresh Pond is some what close it’s not the Whole Foods I usually go to. So yesterday I decided to make sure I went shopping there.
I get to the desk and they give me a card. It’s really cute packaging in a little grocery bag. At that moment I didn’t open it completely and put it back in my purse. So I do my shopping and go to use the gift card and it’s not in the envelope. I looked in my purse maybe it fell out, couldn’t find it. The cashier was nice and had the bagger go to the service desk to find out how to handle it. I just went ahead and paid for my groceries.
So I go up to the desk and I know what people are thinking…yeah right this person is a scammer. She is using the fake the gift card scam. I see all these whispering back forth. One woman is telling me that she might not be able to verify the card. Then I see one of the girls go in the cabinet where she had stored the gift card and she was able to find the card. She said she was the one who put it in there and she knew she had done it and the card must have slipped out.
The nice thing the card was actually for $20.
For the record I am endorsing Hillary Clinton for President. I think the change we are looking for is mostly inexperience to experience. I think that Hillary has the experience that this country can use. Don’t give me slogans give me a work horse any day.
It is becoming clear that John McCain will be the Republican Candidate. When you have McCain and Obama on stage together it will make Obama look like a light weight. McCain has hired some of George Bush’s campaign people and you know it will get ugly.
Okay so why not McCain he has experience. His recent statement about My friends there will be more wars, scared me. I also believe he is very conservative on social issues.
So vote early and often.

The vote is in South Carolina. Of course they are saying that Bill was playing the race card. Hmmmm 80% of the black vote went for Obama. The white vote split three ways.
So to a novice like me looking at the numbers it seemed like the black voters of South Carolina voted on race, the whites not so much. I can understand why they did. I am not faulting it.
Bill Clinton was speaking what he was seeing on the streets and the press was beating him up on it. They were also saying Bill Clinton set the stage to early to say it was based on race if Hillary is she lost. Look at these numbers and let me know what you thing--
These numbers are based on what I heard on CNN at 7:25
|
|
% of Black Voters |
% of White Voters |
|
Barack |
78% |
20% |
|
Hillary |
34% |
62% |
|
John |
7% |
91% |
They were also saying whites with out a College Education were more likely to vote for Hillary. I bet if you look at these numbers they would also over lap the older white women who were voting for Hillary.
First incase you don’t know Leilah’s ultra sound came back clean. So she doesn’t have bladder tumors. She did get a rabies shot while she was there.
I think I understand why I am not a big fan of Obama. I have mostly watched him on debates and he really hasn’t shined in that environment. I have heard he can move a large auditorium but that is with a well written script. Are we saying that Martin Sheen could be President?
I saw today that Chris Matthews had to apologize on his show for some of his comments about Hillary. I did get something from Emily’s list requesting that I send a note to MSNBC to complain about his comments that Hillary is where she is because Bill cheated on her. I didn’t get around to it, but obviously others did.
I was very happy about Hillary Clinton’s win in New Hampshire. It gave me faith in why New Hampshire goes first. I think they picked the two best candidates on both sides. Before the votes were cast we were discuss the possible out comes. We all agreed that next to either McCain or Romney, Obama would look like a light weight.
It is amazing how the press and pundits are all picking on Hillary. I honestly don’t know why Hillary would want to put herself to 4 years of the press consistently picking on her. I had thought that this country was a little to prejudice to elect a person of color, I am afraid we haven’t come far enough to elect a woman.
Barney Frank had an interesting take on Obama on Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rep-barney-frank/refight-the-nineties_b_80751.html. He said that Obama wants to put an end to partisan bickering of the 90’s. According to Barney it could have been done in the 90’s if they had chosen to roll over for the Republicans. It’s worth the read.
