How green am I? It seems like green is the new black all of a sudden.
The person I know who is the most green is my cousin Michael in London. His whole building is green and he doesn’t own a car. He goes all around town on his bicycle. I don’t think I could give up my car. However, I do think before I drive. I no longer make regular trips on the weekend to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. Since they are on my way home from work, I do my grocery shopping then and save an extra trip. I use google map to find the shortest distance. Which for all I know could be using more gas.
The temperature in my loft is on a timer and set in 60’s in the winter and 79 in the summer. I don’t use my oven that often and my dishwasher about twice a week. My light bulbs are the new type except in the kitchen where they are on a dimmer.
I do try to recycle and try not to us too many plastic bottles, which when I do use them I try to recycle. I try eat local and natural.
I am not perfect; I use the Keurig Coffee Pods which are individual plastic pods of coffee. I don’t unplug my vampire cords. I have an wine refrigerator. It takes me over an hour to dry my clothes since my dryer vent has to go up 4 stories.
I am getting aware and feeling guilty when I do some ungreen.
